The Best Places in Austin for Happy Hour All Week Long

Austin, Texas, has an incredible food scene, from its authentic Mexican food to its creative food trucks. It’s easy to find a delicious bite and drink anywhere in this city for an affordable price, especially considering the many happy hour deals throughout Austin.

If you’re looking for places with seriously great happy hour deals as you eat and drink your way through town, here are my recommendations for the best places in Austin for happy hour:

1. Oz. Tap House

When you hear “Oz. Tap House,” you probably think of some “Wizard of Oz”-themed bar, right? Sorry, Toto, but you’re far off. Instead, the “Oz.” in “Oz. Tap House” stands for ounces—as in, the number of ounces of beer you can pour for yourself.

Yep, this taphouse allows you to pour your own beer from a long line of taps. Simply swipe your card and fill your pint with as many (or as few!) ounces as you wish. This means you can taste that weird beer you’ve always wanted to try without committing it, or drink your favorite—the choice is yours!

Here, you can get great deals on certain beers during happy hour and 50% off select appetizers, such as their fried pickles, chips and queso, and their crispy fried cauliflower and jalapeños. Yum!

2. The Garden

The Garden, inspired by Boston-Italian seafood, has three beautiful locations in Austin, all of which boast the same special happy hour.

The best deal here is their $6 cocktails. Typically, their draft cocktails cost around $13, so sipping on one of these for less than half the price is incredible, to say the least. It’s even better if you get two! I recommend the “Blackberry Smash” cocktail—it’s a sweet combination of bourbon, blackberry, mint, and fresh-squeezed lemon juice that is dangerously easy to sip on.

I also have to rant about their crispy Brussels sprouts. Every restaurant does its own version of Brussels sprouts these days, but trust me—these ones are out of this world. They’re perfectly charred and dressed in lemon, chili flakes, crispy pancetta, parmesan, and saba (which is like balsamic). Absolute. Heaven. And, on top of that, they give you a huge portion for only $8, so you can snack on them for days!

3. BarChi Sushi

BarChi Sushi doesn’t mess around when it comes to happy hour. Rather than having a small menu with only a handful of items, they have a menu that goes on for days—literally.

Their happy hour menu is packed full of food, from their Japanese appetizers to their maki rolls to their fresh sushi bar. They also have a ton of different drink options, such as $4 beers, $3 oyster shooters, $2.50 sake bombs, and $7 martinis. For cocktails, I highly recommend the spicy strawberry martini.

You’re sure to leave this happy hour with a full belly and a full wallet, ready to take on whatever the rest of the night brings you.

4. Siena Ristorante Toscana

Get transported to Italy when you drive through the winding West Austin countryside to visit the massive stone mansion at Siena Ristorante Toscana.

Their authentic Tuscan and Italian cuisine includes seasonal antipasti, handcrafted sauces, and homemade pasta and pairs perfectly with their award-winning wine cellar and craft cocktails.

During happy hour at Siena Ristorante Toscana, you can try a variety of discounted appetizers, such as their three-cheese truffle fonduta, grilled flatbread, and seasonal charcuterie board. All of the appetizers pair perfectly with an Aperol spritz or lemon drop martini, which are also featured on their happy hour menu.

5. Revelry on the Boulevard

Looking for some Creole comfort food to pair with Mexican cocktails? Then head to Revelry on the Boulevard!

Their happy hour specials run all day Tuesday and Wednesday (!!) and from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. You can get $2 off appetizers such as boudin balls, fried green tomatoes, and crawfish fries. Their happy hour also features $2 off select cocktails, including their frozen raspberry limeade or their “Ride or Die” cocktail, which is a habanero-infused tequila mixed with mango puree, lime, and agave.

Revelry on the Boulevard’s happy hour also entices visitors to indulge in the best bubbly: champagne from Moët & Chandon! Enjoy for $15 by the glass and $60 by the bottle, or get two bottles for $100. Score!

6. Vince Young Steakhouse

Most happy hour specials offer cheap drinks, cocktails, and apps at dive bars, but if you’re looking for something a bit classier, get dressed up to the nines and head to Vince Young Steakhouse.

Located right in downtown Austin, this steakhouse offers daily happy hour deals from 5 to 7 p.m. in its bar and lounge area. Sip on a martini while you enjoy $10 wagyu brisket burgers, steak frites, roasted bone marrow, or crab cakes.

There’s no need to make a reservation here, either, since the happy hour is only at the bar and lounge. Just head on in, seat yourself, and get ready for some fantastic specials to kick off your night.
